According to blog site UK Fountain Pens…
“Very few notebooks get an unequivocal thumbs-up from me. I’m pleasantly surprised to say that the new FlipFlop pocket notebooks from Say Nice Things come within a hair’s breadth of perfection.”
SUCCESSFUL BRANDING WORKS ACROSS DIFFERENT MEDIA
In the case of FOUR 500 Parkway, the identity had to work electronically, in print and as eye-catching signage.
Cedar took care of every aspect of the project - from the design and photography - to the printing and outdoor signage. In the process we kept a watchful eye on detail and quality control.
GRAVEYARD OF GIANTS
Internationally famous Star wars artist Malcolm Tween had created another stunning illustration.
Entitled ‘Graveyard of Giants’, the print is inspired by one of the opening sequences of ‘The Force Awakens’ where Ray is scavenging for parts in a crashed Imperial Star Destroyer.
Printed by Cedar as a limited edition run of 250 it sold out within hours - obviously.
Branding differentiates properties in a crowded marketplace
Finding a unique feature of a building is an excellent starting place in creating a brand identity for the property.
In the case of Grosvenor House, a magnificent property which has recently undergone a major refit, the obvious design ‘angle’ was the southern elevation of the property.
With a central stairway feature and east/west wings, it really did lend itself to a stylish design interpretation, which worked brilliantly as a stunning property board.
Thoughtful printing can make a client’s life easier
We are pleased to continue our association with Medham Farm on the Isle of Wight and have just printed all the labels for their jars of fresh honey - collected from the farm’s very own bee hives.
We recommended kiss-cut labels so that the print components (top, side and tamper strip) of all the sizes are on one sheet of stickers - making the right label easy to find and simple to apply.
The very best legal advice
is now in Winchester
An awareness campaign for the opening of a new office can involve all kinds of above-the-line media. In this instance back-lit 4-sheet posters on Winchester Train Station advise commuters,
“You don’t have to go to London solicitors any more - the very best legal advice is now right here in Winchester.”
And so it is.
STEEPLECHASE COURT: A NEW BRAND IDENTITY AND A
NEW BROCHURE TO DESIGN AND PRINT
When the right elements combine in the right way, the overall effect can be quite persuasive. This new Cedar designed and printed brochure for the new “Steeplechase Court” development is just such an example. Beautiful CGI illustrations, great photography and nicely written copy come together to create a brochure which informs as much as it inspires. And when the brochure is beautifully litho printed on an uncoated “Vision” paper stock - the brochure feels as good as it looks.
“Za Vashe Zdorovie!”
as they say
Tipsy Wight vodkas from the Isle of Wight are subtly infused with natural ingredients and have been created to be stored in your freezer so they can be served super-chilled.
The problem is - normal labels simply aren’t up to the job. The paper gets soggy and the glue becomes unstuck. In contrast, the Tipsy Wight labels are manufactured to “cryogenic standards” which means the labels won’t deteriorate when the bottles are nestling against your frozen peas. And the best thing is - your favourite vodkas are instantly identifiable… “Za Vashe Zdorovie!”
For better business performance - it pays to have options
Created specifically for all social landlords, Aster Options gives those companies direct access to the Aster Group, a £145 million turnover organisation offering a wealth of knowledge in all areas of this important sector.
From training and business support to advice on complex building projects and marketing, the site is a first port of call for any company who wants to offer value for money, best practice and flexibility in support of their business operations.
Refreshed, restyled and reinvigorated
Originally this publication looked like a standard newsletter but thanks to the vision of BCD Travel’s marketing team it now looks like a true international business magazine. Photographs full of colour and impact are juxtaposed against white space and perfectly minimal copy. Pages full of critical traveller information and stunning ‘Destination Report’ pictorials are offset by regular features and the more light-hearted
‘What in the world?’
The bones of every issue of Move Magazine arrive complete with pagination guides and high-resolution advertisements. Cedar’s job is to design the covers and spreads, research the images and draw the illustrations and diagrams. Finally we print the finished article on some rather splendid GF Smith paper stock and deliver to BCD’s offices in London ready for distribution.
Nothing says “Great Britain” more than the union flag
Sold exclusively at the World Duty Free store in London Heathrow, the Cedar produced, limited edition Bombay Sapphire box was the perfect introduction to London for anyone entering the country. In an incredible year, which saw both the Olympics and the Queen’s Jubilee celebrated in the country’s capital, the box told travellers, “You’ve arrived at the right place”.
Designed by the client and produced by Cedar, it’s a wonderful affirmation of all things British.
TALKIN’ ABOUT A REVOLUTION
Hairdressing and hairstyles have been at the forefront of every British youth movement since the slick-quiffed Teddy Boys of the 1950s and it is a fascination with the history of British counter-culture that inspired one particular range of hair products.
The client wanted to publish a salon giveaway newspaper that would both inspire and inform its readers as to the creative potential of its hair care products juxtaposed against contemporary youth movements in all creative fields. The one word, which unifies all these ideals, is “Headstrong”, particularly when it applies to the young revolutionaries who refuse to accept the norm and continue to push creative boundaries.
Headstrong magazine is essentially a celebration of the young, the creative and the British.
At a sensitive time the last thing a professional florist needs is a reference system that’s clumsy and awkward to use. “Tributes” the funeral bouquet reference/ordering system from eflorist was created by Cedar to help both the florist and their clients, at what can be a difficult time, by simply being simple and easy to use.
The cover was laminated and foil-blocked for extra durability and the text pages were laminated to both sides making them extremely splash resistant.
Clear indexing made navigating the catalogue straightforward - especially important in a busy florist where the owner wants to use the publication to both inspire customers and act as an essential reference for themselves when ordering bouquets. Feedback from the client reports that the item is proving to be as practical as it is inspirational.
BRIGHTON’S BRIMMING OVER
WITH FRESH ARTISTIC TALENT
Created specifically for a Brighton based fresh food manufacturer, “Fresh!” magazine highlights the most creative up-and-coming talent in one of the UK’s most creative towns.
It’s not hard to find exciting and innovative people in Brighton as it’s brimming over with musicians, artists, photographers and performers. The hardest thing to do is to edit the content down to create each publication. Always the exciting aspect of this type of project is the prospect of being the first to feature “the next big thing”.
